Lynn obtained her Masters of Physical Therapy from UBC, after completing her Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Kinesiology at Dalhousie University in Halifax. She has also completed her 500hr Yoga Instructor Certification in India in 2010, and enjoys incorporating elements of yoga into her physiotherapy practice. Coming from an athletic background, Lynn has always been fascinated with the human body and the physical and psychological benefits of movement.
Her clinical practice involves a holistic, individualized treatment approach of therapeutic exercise, education and manual therapy, with an emphasis on active rehabilitation to help individuals achieve and maintain a healthy lifestyle. She has taken post-graduate training in vestibular rehabilitation, chronic pain management and orthopaedics, including the Selective Functional Movement Assessment (SFMA), Mulligan Concept, Lyn Watson’s shoulder course, and manual therapy courses through the Canadian Division of Orthopaedic Manual Therapy. Lynn is in the process of pursuing both her dry needling and acupuncture certification.
Lynn also has post-graduate training in neurological rehabilitation, including her Neurodevelopmental Technique(NDT)/Bobath certification and advanced NDT and manual therapy courses for the neurological population. She has experience treating a variety of neurological and orthopaedic conditions. Her physiotherapy treatment utilizes the knowledge gained in assessing movement patterns along with her yoga training to optimize alignment and improve functional mobility, to decrease pain and minimize the risk of re-injury.
Outside of the clinic, Lynn enjoys swimming, yoga, and staying active in the outdoors exploring our beautiful Vancouver Island.
