What is Shockwave Treatment?
Shockwave Therapy is a non-surgical treatment of soft tissue, bone, and joint pain. The practitioner applies a conductive gel on the area and moves the hand piece in a circular motion over the treatment area.
How it works:
- Extracorporeal Shockwave Therapy (ESWT) sends high-energy mechanical pulses to the treatment area.
- These high-energy mechanical pulses stimulate the breakdown of scar tissue and fibroblasts in the targeted area thus improving blood circulation in the area
- These pulses also initiate metabolic activity and an inflammatory response that promotes and stimulates healing.
