About Dr Ian Hyams MD

Dr Ian Hyams is a physician with 35 years of experience. He originally trained in South Africa completing his MBChB in 1987.

He is a family physician with an accumulated wealth of medical knowledge concerning interventional pain injection procedures, management of complex conditions such as fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue syndrome and chronic migraine, an interest in men’s and women’s health procedural medicine, as well as medical aesthetics.

He has worked in many different countries carrying out the specialized services that he offers including South Africa, USA, United Kingdom and now in Canada.

He was Assistant Researcher at the Cheney Clinic in North Carolina, worked as a Consultant on the NHS in the Essex Neuroscience Centre, Clinical Lead at the Complex Chronic Diseases Program and is the Medical Director of his own clinic, which has been running since 2005 in Port Moody, Canada.

He is also a Medical Advisor for MEFM Society of British Columbia. He is a clinical instructor for the University of British Columbia, and also medical legal expert in certain chronic pain disorders.

Having skillfully managed his own practice in the vibrant community of Port Moody, BC, Dr. Hyams has cultivated a reputation for providing compassionate and effective care to his patients. Now, with a desire to further serve the needs of those grappling with chronic pain, Dr. Hyams has chosen to call Victoria home. His decision to settle in this tranquil island setting reflects his commitment to delivering exceptional healthcare in a serene and supportive environment.
