Physiotherapy FAQs

Do I need a doctor’s referral to see a physiotherapist in Victoria?

No. In BC you can book directly with a physiotherapist. Some extended health plans ask for a referral before they’ll pay, so check your plan.

Do you direct bill my insurance?

Yes. We bill Blue Cross, Medavie Blue Cross, TELUS Health network insurers (including Canada Life) and ICBC directly.

How many physio sessions will I need?

It depends on your injury and your goals. Your physio gives you an estimate at your first assessment and updates it as you improve.

What’s the difference between physiotherapy and chiropractic?

Both treat joint, muscle and nerve problems. Physiotherapy focuses more on exercise and rehab, while chiropractic focuses more on spinal and joint adjustments. Many of our patients see both, and our team works together on your care.

Do you offer dry needling or IMS?

Yes. All three of our physiotherapists use dry needling.

Can I get physio after a car accident?

Yes. Bring your ICBC claim number and we’ll handle the billing. You don’t need a referral.

How much does physiotherapy cost?

An initial assessment is $115 (30 minutes) or $135 (45 minutes). Follow-ups are $80 (20 minutes), $115 (30 minutes) or $165 (45 minutes). Most extended health plans cover physio, and we bill them directly.

Do you have early morning or evening appointments?

Yes. We’re open 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday to Friday and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday. Sunday physiotherapy appointments (8 a.m. to 2 p.m.) can be booked online; the front desk isn’t staffed on Sundays.
